'''Ruffism''' is a religion on [[852 Resurgence]]. Ruffphobia is very prevalent across all servers it is present in, with many people calling it a cult. However, using the definition of a cult, there is no proof or evidence to suggest that Ruffism is one.

==Belief==
Ruffism is centred around Ruff Ruffman, who is considered as the one and only god by Ruffists. Jim Conroy is also regarded as Ruff's human eyes to the world. Unlike other religions, there is genuine proof of Ruff Ruffman and Jim Conroy being real figures.{{Clarity}}

Ruff Ruffman is the animated host of the television show ''FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman'', originally running from 2006 to 2010 on public broadcaster PBS in the United States. According to old programme schedules, it was also known to have aired on TVB Pearl in Hong Kong sometime around 2008-2009, under the name "科學獎門狗".

Important Ruffist figures include Jamie, a chatbot from the Singapore Land Transport Authority.

The religion began on the [[MRT Diaspora|Minecart Rapid Transit Minecraft server]] and has since been brought over to 852 Resurgence through members Aqua, frogggggg, and idiotroaster.

It is unknown exactly when or how Ruffism started. Outside of [[852 Resurgence]], ''FETCH!'' was briefly mentioned in late 2018 during a discussion of nostalgic TV shows. It was mentioned again between January and February of 2021 in a discussion between [[Aqua]] and [[frogggggg]].

Afterwards, discussion regarding the show evolved into a religion, coining the term "Ruffism." Other people who joined became "Ruffists," while those who opposed the religion were considered "Ruffphobics." [[Card0]] was originally ruffphobic but converted early on, marked by his construction of a double-headed Ruff Ruffman statue in his town of Miu Wan.

In early 2021, several MRT members were invited to 852 Resurgence, including Aqua and frogggggg. On March 31, frogggggg asked Aqua for the Ruff Ruffman Discord picture he was using. Throughout the day, he and Card0 persuaded many MRT members to change their Discord pictures to Ruff.

Ruffism became inactive on 852 Resurgence until October 2021.

Card0 initially rejected Ruffism when it started on the MRT, with quotes such as "ban Ruff Ruffman" on March 21, 2021. However, he quickly converted to the religion and embraced its ideals, as seen with his Ruff statue constructed in late March-early April. He also posted a meme with Ruff on Hongkongggag on April 14, comparing spiciness levels at Tam Jai, a restaurant chain in Hong Kong. A bus company named New World Ruff Bus was also founded by him sometime in late May. A company by Aqua with the same name exists in [[Tsz Kong Political Sim|Tsz Kong]], with Card0's permission.

Card0 is also known for having a large part in the spread of Ruffism in 852 Resurgence. On the morning of March 31, Card0 noticed that frogggggg changed his Discord picture to Aqua's Ruff Ruffman picture at the time, and suggestested that they should get others to change their pictures. By that evening, several people who were part of the MRT Diaspora, such as [[AlphaDS]], changed their pictures. The movement was not as successful with non-diaspora members, however [[ImMcNutty]] was convinced and kept the Ruff picture for several months, while other members' changes were temporary.

However, starting from mid-2021, Card0 gradually downplayed his belief in Ruffism, with instances of him calling Aqua a "rufflover" and responding "based" to a ruffphobic comment in MRT chat. On January 27, 2022, he claimed that he had renounced Ruffism, however this is still disputed by Ruffists, with Card0 calling out deniers for "gaslighting" him. After a meme was posted by Aqua on January 31 in both the MRT and 852 Resurgence Discords about Card0's conversion to Ruffism, Card0 responded that he was "never truly committed to Ruffism" and only joined the religion to spy on it. Several 852R members responded with concerns of dementia, which came after disputed claims of his age.

The '''MRT Diaspora''' are [[852 Resurgence]] members who came from the Minecart Rapid Transit Server: a transit and city building orientated Minecraft server.

The activity of members part of the diaspora varies. Notable members include [[_pie]] and [[Aqua]].
==History==
Card0 invited some of his MRT friends between March and May of 2021 in an effort to grow 852 Resurgence, however, members of the diaspora were not active on the server initially.

In the summer of 2021, some members of the diaspora became more active, such as [[Mys]] and [[friedchilli]].

In October, the MRT announced that it would be shutting down in January 2023, which was later reversed. Shortly after, controversial events occuredcausing more members from the MRT server to be invited. To keep in contact, Card0 invited members like [[Louis - 𝓓𝓝𝓐]] and [[Hightech TR]].

More members would join 852R gradually overtime, a few would join after [[Moj Dojo]] became a partnered server.
