This is a list of all staff members in [[852 Resurgence]].

In total, there have been 37 staff members, residing in a total of 7 countries. As of October 2024, there are 26 staff members. 852R staff members are responsible for moderating the server, while also acting in an advisory role for all page affairs. Staff members are also expected to be role models to the community, and engage with it regularly in order to prevent a "staff crowd" rising and becoming more and more separate from the server at large.

In the past, staff members were promoted either via being handpicked by Card0, or were promoted via a closed vote within the staff team. Since November 2021, Staff members, with the exception of Technicians who are still voted on through a closed vote, are promoted via popular vote from the community. Members can nominate other members for Staff, provided they meet the requirements, in which Card0 would either allow or reject the nomination to go through the voting process.

The '''852RSMP''' was the second iteration of a Hongkongggag Minecraft server. It ran on version 1.19 on Aternos, and was largely administrated by [[Sleepy]] and [[Card0]].

The server opened at 9pm HKT on April 8, 2022. It was replaced by the [[852R SMP V2]] on April 27th 2023.
==History==
===Before Opening===
Due to [[Syntax]] facing issues in real life, he was unable to host a second Minecraft server. Eventually, the prospect of hosting a second SMP was put on hold indefinitely.

Around late March of 2022, [[Sleepy]] would suggest to [[Card0]] the idea of a new SMP hosted on Aternos. Card0 agreed, announcing it on April 5, 2022. During this time, construction on the spawn area went ahead by Card0.
===Opening===
On the night of April 8, 2022, the SMP was officially launched to the public. Originally having a maximum player capacity of 15, the server was given attention beyond the expectations of Card0 and Sleepy, forcing some players to wait for their turn to join the server.

During this period, the spawn was vandalized due to the lack of protection.

Quickly, members began forming groups and factions, the most prominent of which was [[Yuutopia (2nd iteration)|the second iteration of Yuutopia]], founded by [[Wouldntglidingbefaster|hwsiceland_]]. [[Bossuuu]] and [[Salami]] would also be appointed as president. Card0 would also join - albeit as a “minimum wage intern”.

Other groups, such as “wolf tamers” and “oily ame” founded by new members such as [[鈴木愛理]] and [[Mythguy1314]] would also come into fruition during this time.
===Mythguy Incident===
On April 15, 2022, [[Mythguy1314]] went on a rant about suspected admin abuse from Card0, who failed to try and calm him down. Mythguy also repeatedly made threats and griefed the server. This resulted in Mythguy being indefinitely banned from the server and temporary banned from the 852R Discord Server for 2 weeks. Eventually, Mythguy would be able to return to 852R, making his own SMP of which very little is known about or remembered, he would also be unbanned from the SMP.

At this time, the server library and spawn archives were built after a suggestion by [[Thoth|Purrcat2010]].
===Embassy Crisis===
Tensions between the major nations of the SMP flared until it resulted in a war. The [[Mutualist Republic of New Estonia|Mutualistic Republic of New Estonia]] was griefed as a result of Card0 burning down the embassy in [[Yuutopia (2nd iteration)|Yuutopia]] which originally belonged to [[The Dojo]] and [[Zeon]]. [[Lieutenant Quattro]] entered the [[Mutualist Republic of New Estonia|Mutualistic Republic of New Estonia]] after being enraged left a crater behind causing [[Thoth]] to move away indefinitely (still remaining in New Estonia) and work on the [[United Infrastructure Guild]] HQ. The crater was filled in by [[Zoe|hwsiceland_]], who used the ruins of [[Thoth]]'s house as their construction base. Some questioned the legitimacy of the Embassy Crisis as a war, claiming that New Estonia did not give consent to start the war, accusing Lientenant Quattro of broke the rules of the SMP.
===The Dragon Fight===
On April 22nd 2022, the first Ender Dragon fight was held on the SMP. It was the SMP's first actual event besides the opening of the SMP itself. Around 8 people would take part with the fight lasting for around 10 minutes. [[Ballsy]] was the one who had slain the Ender Dragon and retrieved its egg.

Following this, multiple members began exploring the End. A 48 hour grace period was put in place to prevent people from respawning Ender Dragon too quickly.

After the dragon fight, the server became inactive, with few people playing on it. The only notable exception was a spleef competition that occurred shortly after the era began, which attracted several players.
===Free Settlements===
Around the same time as the spleef competition, Purrcat2010 invented free settlements, which are (at least in theory) initially not part of any faction, but can choose to join or even become their own faction. He worked on the first one, [[Warpwood]] for a long time, even writing an in-game guidebook detailing how potential residents could get the most out of it. Card0 recognized the new idea on the same day Warpwood was completed. However, it did not cause people to come onto the server in droves as Purrcat originally projected, as Warpwood still remains unpopulated save for some villagers.
===Building Contest===
A building contest was hosted by [[Card0]] on July 5th 2022. There were 3 contestants: [[Frogggggg]], [[Aqua]] and [[Zoe|Hwsiceland_]]. The theme was Night Market, and contestants were given about 20-30 minutes to build, with the assistance of Creative Mode. In the end, Froggggggg won the event.

This was the last major event on the SMP before it went dormant for months.
===The End of the SMP===
On April 27th 2023, the SMP was suceeded by the [[852R SMP V2]].
==Differences from the 1st Iteration==
There are some differences between the 1st and 2nd iterations of the Minecraft Server.
*The rules were more clear cut from the start, regulating factions, killing and griefing.
*The server was hosted on Aternos rather than a paid host.
