Ruffism is a religion on 852 Resurgence. Ruffphobia is very prevalent across all servers it is present in, with many people calling it a cult. However, using the definition of a cult, there is no proof or evidence to suggest that Ruffism is one.

History
It is unknown exactly when or how Ruffism started. Outside of 852 Resurgence, FETCH! was briefly mentioned in late 2018 during a discussion of nostalgic TV shows. It was mentioned again between January and February of 2021 in a discussion between Aqua and frogggggg.
Afterwards, discussion regarding the show evolved into a religion, coining the term "Ruffism." Other people who joined became "Ruffists," while those who opposed the religion were considered "Ruffphobics." Card0 was originally ruffphobic but converted early on, marked by his construction of a double-headed Ruff Ruffman statue in his town of Miu Wan.
In early 2021, several MRT members were invited to 852 Resurgence, including Aqua and frogggggg. On March 31, frogggggg asked Aqua for the Ruff Ruffman Discord picture he was using. Throughout the day, he and Card0 persuaded many MRT members to change their Discord pictures to Ruff.
Ruffism became inactive on 852 Resurgence until October 2021.

Card0 initially rejected Ruffism when it started on the MRT, with quotes such as "ban Ruff Ruffman" on March 21, 2021. However, he quickly converted to the religion and embraced its ideals, as seen with his Ruff statue constructed in late March-early April. He also posted a meme with Ruff on Hongkongggag on April 14, comparing spiciness levels at Tam Jai, a restaurant chain in Hong Kong. A bus company named New World Ruff Bus was also founded by him sometime in late May. A company by Aqua with the same name exists in Tsz Kong, with Card0's permission.
Card0 is also known for having a large part in the spread of Ruffism in 852 Resurgence. On the morning of March 31, Card0 noticed that frogggggg changed his Discord picture to Aqua's Ruff Ruffman picture at the time, and suggestested that they should get others to change their pictures. By that evening, several people who were part of the MRT Diaspora, such as AlphaDS, changed their pictures. The movement was not as successful with non-diaspora members, however ImMcNutty was convinced and kept the Ruff picture for several months, while other members' changes were temporary.
