MRT Controversy

The MRT Controversy was a controversy surrounding members of 852R and the owner of the MRT Server: Frumple.

Background

The MRT Server is a Minecraft Creative City-Building server run by Frumple who founded it in 2012. Card0 had joined the server in May 2020 and had played it regularly since then. He would also invite some of the friends he made on the server to 852R such as Aqua, AirplaneNiner, Frosty_Foobar10 and Hightech_TR. Frumple was also very distant from the server, claiming to no longer play Minecraft and only log on to manage the MRT. He had also been a controversial figure with his crackdown on criticism with members being banned or pressured to leave because of it.

Card0 would also invite people from 852R periodically to the MRT. However, most people only logged on to visit with only a few becoming members and starting towns. One of these members was Zoe who had started the town of Lean Peak near Card0's city of Miu Wan.

The Controversy

Following in Zoe's footsteps, StormNinja25 and Jasper also joined the server with some others like Luminous visting as guests. In the meantime, Zoe and Aqua had spread some of 852R's jokes such as YUU to the server. While this mostly caused mild confusion or humour from most of the active playerbase, Frumple was upset and deemed 852R to be toxic.

On July 9th 2022, Frumple as well as the MRT's Head Admin: chiefbozx, told Zoe and Aqua to stop, believing them to be unwilling to cooperate and asserting their opinions as views held by the majority of the playerbase. Card0 would defend the two only to get harsh messages against him. It should also be noted that Card0 was also vetoed from the Conductor rank (a rank that would give him worldedit) due to his opposition to Frumple's actions a month prior. Card0, along with Zoe and Aqua would complain about it in 852R.

A couple days later on July 15th 2022, Card0 would make a statement on the MRT not just calling out Frumple on the actions he had taken against 852R members, but also the actions he had done to make the server a less friendly place. Unfortunately, most of the people who spoke up called him out with only a few besides Zoe and Aqua speaking out. This had been due to the fact that most of the members who disagreed were afraid of speaking out. The statement ended in nothing benifical.

Aftermath

Frumple would become one of 852R's several inside jokes, despite never having joined 852R while most 852R members having never logged onto the MRT. However Card0 would later tell people that the jokes had to stop in early 2023.

Due to how Card0 acted, this led to a warning issued against him and a temporary 3 day ban levied against him. He would then be banned again, this time for 2 months, after another incident.
