The Hongkongggag SMP is the current iteration of a Hongkongggag/852 Resurgence Minecraft server. It is run on 1.21.4. It went live on March 29th 2024.
History
Beginnings
Although a 1.21.4 SMP had existed for around three months, nobody played on it, leading Card0 to reset it in late March. This time, a custom spawn island was made with custom shopkeepers and other features. There were a few major differences from past iterations though:
More plugins and datapacks were installed, in order to customise and improve the Vanilla Minecraft experience.
An overworld highway system was made (there was a small one on the 852R SMP V2 but it only connected Spawn to two factions, whereas the overworld system has so far been more wide-spanning.
People were encouraged to build on the pre-existing highway system.
During the first two weeks, several players joined the SMP, some of whom had never joined the discord server before as the server was also heavily advertised on the page.

Landmarks
Spawn Region
The Spawn Region refers to the area around the Spawn Island.
Spawn Island
All new players spawn on the island which contains a few custom shops as well as a nether portal, to leave, players can enter leave by boat, swim, or walk on the spruce bridge to the mainland.
Villager Trading Hall
Located next to a Bamboo farm, the villager trading hall allows anyone to trade with Villagers at spawn, especially as it’s right next to the island.
Spawn Farms
Several farms exist at spawn such as a wheat farm, a mob farm, an automatic Chicken farm and an automatic sugar cane farm.
Church
Suggested by greentea, a church was built at spawn which contains a Yaoi book.
PVP Arena

JuliusCeaser’s base
Next the PVP Arena spawn is JuliusCeaser’s base.
Canalave Region
The Canalave region is a region located southwest of Spawn and is centered on the village of Canalave.
Windmill
This windmill is located on top of a hill near the village and overlooks both it at Spawn.
Acacia Region
Located east of Spawn, the Acacia Region is located in a savannah, with Card0’s house being the main point of it all.
Card0's House
Card0's House is located in the middle of the region, consisting of an Acacia house and some farms.
Clout's Base
Located near Card0's House, Clout's base is very similar to his base on the 852R SMP V2.
Saltedline's House
Located just up the road from Card0's House, Saltedline's house is built in a brick brutalist style.
Acacia Village
Acacia Village is located west of Card0's House and is a seaside village.
Mystic Region
The Mystic Region refers to the area surrounding Mythguy1314’s base.
Mythguy1314 and Greentea's Base
Mythguy1314’s base is comprised of several farms, a fishing hut and a wizard’s tower where he and greentea base at.
Aspen Region
The Aspen region is a region located far away from Spawn and is primarily comprised of Taiga forests.
Joyce and Ducks' Base
Located in a modified spruce village, this base is where Joyce and Ducks base at.
