2023 HKGAG Music Festival

The HKGAG Music Festival was a music festival held on August 23rd 2023. It was hosted by Drotoch and Card0.

Background

Card0 had briefly joked about hosting a Eurovision-type music festival in the server, however this never more than just an off hand comment. However around late June 2023, Drotoch would pitch a music festival event to Card0, who agreed to host it in July. Sadly, due to a lack of participants, this was pushed to August 23rd. Thankfully however, several musicians and singers joined with around 10 participants, including Drotoch, taking part.

Event

The event saw around 20-30 people join in total, with half the musicians being in the voice call. Many of the members were blown away at the quality of the music, as many thought that most of the songs would be memes, and not that serious. As a result, Card0 would hint that a smaller-scale Christmas event may be held later in the year, as well as a second one next year. flutters would also announce the HKGAG Film Festival later that year, though it would later be cancelled.

Overall, the event was a massive success, with many of the members seeing it as one of the most succesful large-scale events in the server's history, on the same level as the 5th Anniversary and the Hongkongggag Community Awards. Aside from a small issues with a few unknown individuals spamming soundboard despite being told to stop, the event went smoothly.
