Oneaguy Controversy

The Oneaguy Controversy was a controversy involving Card0's callout of cartoonist oneaguy on Instagram.

Background

Oneaguy is a Hong Kong cartoonist who is a right wing radical localist often espouting xenophobic, racist and pro-colonial rhetoric, often portraying mainlanders as subhuman and the West as a superior beacon of prosperity. He also has claimed that the Imperial Japanese were better for Hong Kong than the Hong Kong Police, and that Hong Kongers doing compulsory Covid-19 tests were basically equivalent to Jews during the Holocaust.

As a result, Card0 made some call-out posts about oneaguy occasionally, almost always on the page's story. He also found out that Oneaguy was the uncle of Asianbarb, and that his family hates him due to how extreme he is. Asian also told everyone that despite his anti-Mainlander sentiment, he was married to a Mainlander.

Controversy

With help from Asianbarb, zoe and Aqua, Card0 made a callout post on oneaguy on November 21st 2022. Although many praised Card0 for doing this, including some who were too afraid to speak out about oneaguy in the past due to the support he (oneaguy) got, many defended oneaguy while also calling Card0 a "leftard". This resulted in some followers leaving Hongkongggag however Card0 was unfazed.

Aftermath

Although Card0 had succeeded in getting people to know about why oneaguy was a terrible person, the post had failed to achieve its goals in damaging oneaguy's reputation as more people followed him afterwards. As a result, while Card0 believed that he should have made that post, he said that he would not make similar posts in the near future.
