The Anti-Blue Ribbon Policy was a server policy that had been enacted from the beginning of The Resurgence, even before the days of 852 Resurgence.

Description

The policy decreed that all Blue Ribbons (people who support the Hong Kong Police/government/CCP) are to be banned indefinitely. This policy started out of fear of getting caught by police during the 2019 Hong Kong protests and was exacerbated with the introduciton of the National Security Law (NSL) in Hong Kong in July 2020.

Use

The ban has been used on multiple occasions, mostly against new members with the exception of 3 members: Christie, Vartesh and Aaron C.

Criticism

Critcisms have been lobbied against this policy, some members believed that it contradicted the community's policy of free speech, to which Card0 defended it by arguring that the NSL was a security risk and as such, an exemption had to be made.

Later on as popularity of 852 Resurgence increased, some members also argued that because of Discord's increased privacy compared to WhatsApp, the policy should be relaxed or scrapped. However, Card0 mainly defended this current policy.

Relaxation

After an incident involving a member known as Yosh on August 20th 2022, Card0 would decide to hold a discussion and a poll to see if the policy should be changed. Due to the results of a poll, the policy would be relaxed the next day.
