Tolmo is a member of 852 Resurgence. He is a Discord Admin.

He served as a Moderator once between May and December of 2020, and a second time in December 2021.

He served as a Technician between January 2022 and January 2023, before being promoted to Moderator for a third time. 2 months later he was promoted to Admin.

History

Tolmo joined The Resurgence in late 2019, shortly after the new Instagram page, hongkonggggag, was created.

Kaden Crisis

Tolmo participated in the argument of the Kaden Crisis, acting as a defendant towards Kaden, Tolmo believed that Kaden deserved a second chance and should be kept within the community.

During the argument, Tolmo spoke with Kaden in private. He asked Kaden about the root cause of the argument in The Resurgence and attempted to reason with Kaden to not instigate the situation any further.

Tolmo pleaded Kaden's case with the Admins and tried to persuade them to offer Kaden one more chance.

In the aftermath, Tolmo was removed from The Resurgence for one week and put inside the Quarantine chat.

Promotion to Chat Mod

Tolmo was involved during the May 2020 Porn Incursion. Due to the chat being flooded with explicit stickers, Tolmo wanted to take initiative and serve the community directly as a chat moderator.

After being approved by Card0, Tolmo became the first Chat Mod of The Resurgence.

Faction Debate

Tolmo was against the formal creation of factions and the claim system on the Hongkongggag Minecraft Server.

2nd Term as Mod

Tolmo was promoted to Mod via the nomination and voting system in early December.

A few weeks later, he posted a controversial link in #debates that linked pedophilia to the LGBT community, leading to his resignation on December 19, 2021.

Return as Technician

After the poll ended with regards to whether or not technicians should be elected or promoted, Tolmo was promoted by flutters immediately given his contribution to the fandom page.

Subsequent Promotions

Due to his activity in the community, Tolmo rose through the ranks, being repromoted to Moderator not long after, and later Admin. While Tolmo has become less active over time, he has remained semi-active, especially through his daily astrophotos.

Personality

Tolmo is a sociable, extroverted person who likes hanging out with other people. He enjoys company from others and prioritises spending time with friends over many things. He is a talkative, idealistic person that is very eager to strike up a conversation with other members, regardless of their familiarity with himself.

Tolmo is often a contrarian and enjoys participating in debates. When a flaw is observed, Tolmo is seldom hesitant in pointing it out and pushes for reform. Tolmo is also extremely adamant in their views and often defends his points vicariously, sometimes to his own detriment. In spite of this, Tolmo enjoys taking on new perspectives and increasing his own knowledge, although he rarely admits this to other people in debate.

Tolmo is very proud and slightly narcissistic. He often feels threatened and jealous when he sees others outperforming him. Tolmo can also become very insecure in the face of this.

In terms of the community, Tolmo was often been likened to an opposition figure in the Staff team, prior to the promotion of several new staff members. He would advocate for clearer rules, as well as more loose standards on what free speech meant to the server, while also opposing the promotion of more staff members, believing that the Staff Team had enough people as it was. While he clashed with Card0 in the earlier years of the community, the two have cooled significantly since then and have had less and less disagreements.
