Thoth (Minecraft IGN: Toth_1), is a member of 852 Resurgence. He is a member of the MRT Diaspora. As his former username suggested, he likes cats and has one in real life. He is currently enrolled in college, in which he is studying to be a librarian.
History
Thoth came from a transit citybuilding server known as the MRT Server, where he was and still is a long-time and fairly active member. He is friends with many people in the MRT Diaspora, including but not limited to Aqua (known to him as mi), Frogggggg (known to him as frog), even becoming friends with the 852r Founder on the MRT, Card0 (known to him as Harbor). Eventually, after being curious about 852r for months from hearing his fellow MRT-ians talking about it, he finally asked Card0 for the invite link to the server near the start of 2022.
Once he joined, he wasn't active on the server except to play counting and interact largely only with the people he knew from the MRT. This changed with the rise of 852rSMP, in which he got to know a select portion of the rest of the community some more through Minecraft. Though he died many times initially, he managed to stabilize after joining the Mutualist Republic of New Estonia with Card0. He founded the United Infrastructure Guild in order to serve the server better through infrastructure and to organize like-minded people into a united front to build infrastructure. He also wrote the first contribution to the server library and archives at Spawn, which was his idea. When New Estonia got blown up during the Embassy crisis, he left his house and moved over 4,000 blocks away from Spawn, both as a temporary living arrangement as well as work on the United Infrastructure Guild HQ among other . However, it should be noted that he still considered himself a part of New Estonia during this time. As of the start of May 2022, he moved back and extensively renovated his house. While he was doing this, he formed partnerships with kup and noodles. The latter of which joined the United Infrastructure Guild and that both people connected their relatively close houses together. He again became reasonably active when the SMP reset, keeping the United Infrastructure Guild and joining Card0's country again, the Verdant Republic.
He is also active on the 852r WIki, making regular edits to it even when he otherwise isn't active anywhere else in the community.
Towards the end of October, Thoth was nominated by Card0 for Mediator. He succeeded in getting the rank, with all but one of the people who voted in his poll voting for him being promoted.
Due to getting older and increasing dissatisfaction with how things are run on the MRT, Thoth has become more active on 852 Resurgence, even if it's only a little. Also because of increased maturity, he has largely disassociated with Ruffism.
Role in Tsz Kong
Thoth, joined the Tsz Kong Political Sim when Card0 revived the sim. He joined the Democratic Socialist Greens, then known as the Radical Party. Eventually, the leader (who happened to be one of his MRT friends) left the sim, making him the leader. He changed the name to Democratic Socialist Alliance to increase it's chances due to the word radical's negative connotations, and made other reforms to the party. The party was in a coalition with the Green Party, run by frogggggg, then they merged to become the current incarnation. Eventually, Thoth became President, serving for two terms and running on a platform of anti-toxicity and meaningful reform to the sim, largely in response to the sim's toxicity and some people attempting to seize greater power in it. Towards the end of his Presidency, he wrote a new constitution for Tsz Kong. While it got praise from some people, including Card0, it ultimately didn't pass. However, Thoth did manage to get a fusion power bill passed that he wrote himself and contributed a small amount to the sim's lore. After his term ended, due to being worn down from dealing with Pixel's passive-aggressiveness, he would leave the sim indefinitely, passing his party to presumably frogggggg. Eventually, Aqua would become the leader of the party.
Personality
Thoth is very kind and optimistic. Though in the community, he readily interacts (especially after 852rSMP went live) with people. In real life, on account of his Autism (he is nevertheless very high-functioning, even indistinguishable from normal people), he is somewhat introverted, generally interacting with few people outside his family and his circle of friends (even then, he doesn't share all of his likes at any one time, due to his introversion). Even with these people, he has amicable relations with them.Though he enjoys having fun, he is capable of being serious and has a work-ethic to boot.
His ideals are, in no particular order, community, compassion, equality, justice, mercy, generosity, honesty, integrity, and tolerance. These stem from his political beliefs as a leftist and his religious beliefs as a moderate and non-denominational Protestant Christian and vice-versa.
His interests (outside of 852r and Minecraft) include science (especially astronomy), history, comparative religion and philosophy, politics, writing (he is an aspiring author as his Discord profile description says), reading (would read anything that is not horror), art, TV and film (would not watch horror. anything too violent, or depressing). He is happy to talk about all of these things casually.

Beliefs
Thoth's beliefs are summarized here. While he used to like talking about politics online, he doesn't really anymore (granted, he's more neutral about himself discussing of politics in general). This is because he feels that nuance is hard to read on the internet and politics is full of nuance.
As said under personality, Thoth religious-wise is a moderate and non-denominational Protestant Christian, having a generally favorable view of the Pope, but not feeling beholden to him, rather respecting him as a great leader and person in general. He also finds meaning in Buddhism.
For political views, Thoth sees himself as a Socialist with Marxist sympathies, supporting a move away from capitalism, but feeling strongly that it can be done "within the system" and not with autocratic and/or revolutionary means. He feels that democracy is the best way to run things. That said, he is neutral on the republic vs. monarchy debate, feeling that both are good as long as the people have a say and aren't oppressed. He largely votes for and supports, but isn't officially a part of, the Democratic Party, especially the leftist factions of said party, in his home country of the United States, but thinks that the country on a federal level should adopt a multi-party system without the winner-take-all electoral system. He has intense dislike for the anarcho-communist and other stereotypes of the left made by the right in his country. He feels that his country should "export" democracy to countries in need of it or are struggling as long as it is done peacefully.
As for Hong Kong, he feels that China should stop oppressing and actually listen to the protesters, up to and including repealing the National Security Law and letting Hong Kong secede if the people want that. To summarize, he supports the pro-democracy bloc in Hong Kong politics.
