Hong Kong r/place

The Hong Kong r/place Discord server was a server that was focused on making HK-related pixel art on r/place 2 on reddit.

History

The project began when HKGAFD decided to begin a project to make the Black Bauhinia flag on r/place. He reached out to Card0 for help and support to which Card0 agreed and offered a server partnership. To HKGAFD's surprise, the server's member count soared during the r/place event, with membership reaching over 1600 at its peak.

After the end of the event on April 5th, it was decided that the server would be archived. Card0, who had gained permission to promote 852R, tried to promote the server heavily as a place where people could continue chatting but it was eventually deleted.

Association with 852R

Multiple members from 852R such as keq, Tolmo, king ronak, Coxmic and Zoe helped out with the project, largely due to the server partnership. Card0 would also help out a bit albeit mainly on the first day.

Second R/Place Project

A second r/place project went ahead on r/place 2023 but it was not as succesful. While Card0 would promote it in 852R, he refused to join in on the project.
